Sure, we know what you’re thinking… but the dictionary defines “threesome” as “a group of three people engaged in the same activity.”

To celebrate 3V Theatre, we’re presenting plays about threesomes of all kinds.

Our own “three” represents the playwright, director and actor relationship, but there are all kinds of threesomes out there – little pigs, Musketeers, Stooges, even celebrity deaths come in three. Join us as we share exciting stories of three – love triangles, tricycles, Three Dog Night – the possibilities are endless!

Jen Browne (Playwright) is an ensemble member of the Deconstructive Theatre Project and appeared in their 2012 production, The Orpheus Variations. She recently became a member of playwright collective, Lather, Rinse, Repeat and is currently developing two full length scripts one, for a September 2013 production with Purple Threads Ensemble. Jen studied collaborative and creative performance at Queens University in Belfast, N.I. and received a B.A. in Theater Arts from Rowan University. Aliza Shane (Director)

Cas Marino (Hadwin) - Long an admirer and co-conspirator of the epic creative forces behind 3V, Cas is thrilled to be working once again with them in this beautiful, brilliant venture. His work has been seen and heard across virtually every medium from television, radio and film to web series, cabaret, spoken word, variety, and off-Broadway stages. Notable credits include dramatic, comic and musical roles in acclaimed New York revivals of Harvey Fierstein’s Torch Song Trilogy (Arnold), and La Cage Aux Folles (Albin), as well as starring as Cat in the Hat in Seussical!, Alfie Doolittle in My Fair Lady, and Hook in Peter Pan. NYC audiences have seen Cas in recent seasons in Black Henna’s Shakespeare Parks tours; both the workshop and off-Broadway premiere of The Unlikely Adventures of Race McCloud, Private Eye; Are You There, Zeus? It’s Me, Electra; Urine Town; and multiple annual festivals, including Fresh Fruit, NYC Fringe, and Planet Connections. Cas is also an accomplished writer on the subjects of food, survival, and adult lifestyle, as well as general modern-day social moors. Much love to Aliza, Jenn and Chanda, and his other stunning cohorts in this project; his two most brilliant productions, Alli and Zach; and the Good Lord whose power and love feed every blessed moment of this wonderful ride.

Michelle Silvani (Lindwin) has been most frequently and most recently seen at the Flea Theater.  A member of the Bats, their resident acting company, she is often a part of their projects of the late night variety, #serials@theflea and The Shakes.  Other recent projects include Tommy Smith’s Nectarine EP and LEGOM’s I Hate Fucking Mexicans, also at the Flea.  Some favorite previous roles have been Little Sally of Urinetown with Momentum Repertory Company, and Van’s Sister of Dog Sees God at Adelphi University, from which she holds a B.F.A in Acting.

Jordan Tierney (Adwin), a native of Decatur, Ga., has been working in New York theatre since 2009, when he met and auditioned for Aliza Shane and Jenn Tufaro. Since then, Jordan has worked with incredibly talented playwrights, actors and directors connected to the two gifted artists. It’s a homecoming experience working with the people who gave him his first job in the theatre, and he is thrilled to be working with 3V.

Brit Hawkins (Playwright) is a freelance playwright and actor. She is currently pursuing her MA in Theatre Education at Emerson College, after receiving her BFA in acting from University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2008. Brit’s play Interlocked won best workshop at UNCG in 2007. Sticky Band-Aids had a staged reading (directed by Aliza Shane) at Looking Glass Theatre, which is also where her show Sidewalk Cracks won Best Production and Best Playwright at the  Winter 2011 Forum (directed by Gretchen Ferris).

Kimberly Carvalho is honored to be working with Aliza, Jenn, and Chanda again! She is a first-generation Portuguese-American and an actor, writer, and producer based in NYC. Recently, she and her twin sister performed as Siamese Sisters in Sleep No More’s Carnival. They also played alongside each other in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, featuring Matthew McConaughey. This summer, she is set to shoot an indie psychological family drama, (www.OutoftheTrees.com). Kimberly is also Co-Founder of TriQuetra Productions LLC which is in pre-production of a short film she wrote and will perform in. Rachel Pincus (Katherine) is an accomplished actor, voiceover talent, and performance artist living in Brooklyn. She forsook the palm trees and sunshine of South Florida for a BFA in theater from NYU, where she also received conservatory-style training at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. She’s the featured voice in the Readorium educational computer game, was the assistant director of improv at the New York Renaissance Faire, and travels nationwide performing her own eccentric blend of humorous and titillating performance art. Her next performance piece will be featured at The Pink Room Presents: Dunelesque on April 27th at the Parkside Lounge.

Austin Young (Michael) is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Threesome reading. It’s his first Threesome :) He recently did a show with his Theater Company, Ticket 2 Eternity, called Disjointed Love Shorts. He is, also, currently in a webseries titled “Finding Me”. He would like to thank his family and friends for all their love and support.

Brandon Marianne Lee (Playwright) is a playwright/performer/storyteller based in New York after spending her earlier life bouncing between Colorado, Nebraska and Minnesota. In 2012, she co-founded Lather, Rinse, Repeat: A Playwrights’ Collective. Short plays include Apartment for Three (3 Voices Theatre), This is What I Want (ESPA Detention Series and Time to Strike Festival), What About Us (Gallery Players Black Box Festival), and I’ll Play the Cook (ESPA Detention Series). Her full length plays include Margie the Dog (Lather, Rinse, Repeat Reading Series), Posted, and Rochester. She is the recipient of the 2013 Mary Louise Rockwell Scholarship granted by the Einhorn School of Performing Arts at Primary Stages and received her BA in Theatre Arts and English at the University of Minnesota. Carly Robins (Director) is an actress, voice over artist, producer and writer living in Brooklyn. Favorite roles include Judith in The Possibilities, Everybody Dies, Magic Metro Card. She has been in several web series including I’m Sorry Melissa, Headhunters, and Fantasy Sports League for Bloomberg Sports. Her voice can be heard in commercials, promos, and video games, and audio narration. She was also featured on an episode of the Style Network’s Married Away. TV work includes on “One Life To Live,” “Guiding Light,” and “As The World Turns.” She is currently working on two pilots for food based lifestyle shows. She is thrilled to be a part of 3V and can’t wait for more.

Toccara Castleman (Fauna) is a triple threat: writer/actress/human, originally from Chicago. After appearing in a funny little play called Swallow It, Toccara discovered that she’s funny and has since enjoyed honing her skills as a comedic actress. Erica Jensen (Flora)

Meghan Rose Tonery (Merryweather) is an actress with a B.A. in Theatre Performance from Marymount Manhattan College. Favorite productions: Life Among the Natives (Lulu), Barefoot in the Park (Corie), Shakespeare in Hollywood (Olivia), Twelfth Night (Olivia). Jill Wurzburg (Jessica) is thrilled to be working with Aliza, Chanda, and Jenn again. Jill is a NYC-based actor from California studying at T. Schreiber, The Shakespeare Forum, and The Studio New York, and acting every chance she gets. Amanda Thompson (Director) is an award-winning New York City based director and teaching artist. Select NYC credits include Life is a Dream (Festival of Fools), Betsy is Bored and The Angel Play, (Looking Glass Theatre), Ampersand (Fringe Festival and Looking Glass Forum), Hatching (Fringe Festival), and Fate Fury and Musical Theatre (Frigid Festival). She has assisted for directors Lear deBessonet and Rachel Dickstein, and playwright Heidi Schreck. She is co- founder of a new company called Theatre Without Pants. She works for Town Hall as a teaching artist, and is co-founder of the children’s theatre program H.A.T.CH. at the Chain Theatre in Long Island City. Sierra Marcks (Playwright) is so thrilled and honored to be a part of 3V’s inaugural event. These ladies are amazing and will surely be doing amazing things. Sierra is an occasional writer and essayist and a frequent actor. Check out her credits at www.sierramarcks.com.

Elyssa Mersdorf (Director) is very excited to be a part of this inaugural reading at 3V. She previously worked with all three 3V founding members and is happy to have the opportunity to work with these fabulous ladies again. Elyssa is currently studying for her BFA in theatre and will be making the move to the West Coast this summer. Here’s to one last theatrical hurrah in NYC!!

Carley Colbert (Alex) received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from SUNY New Paltz. She spent a semester studying with the Accademia dell’Arte where she fell in love with physical theatre. Carley has performed in numerous productions including Are You There Zeus? It’s Me, Electra at the Bleeker Street Theatre, The Flowers of Fantastico with FringeNYC and participated in The Winter Comedy Festival at Theatre54. Occasionally, Carley can be seen participating in interactive theatre such as Therapeutic Clowning with her fellow Medical Clowns.

Emily Tuckman (Daphne) has been performing for over 12 years in New York. Her favorite roles include Evelyn in LaBute’s The Shape of Things (Estraña Theatre Company), Jackie-O in House of Yes (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Guildenstern in The Hamlet Project (La Mama Etc.), Blanche in Streetcar Named Desire, Laura in The Glass Menagerie (New York Fringe Festival) and Helena in Midsummer Night’s Dream (Estraña Theatre Company). She also directed and produced A…My Name is Alice, and studied at Williamstown Theatre Festival, and under Daniela Varon and Larry Singer, and at the Folger Shakespeare Institute. She is thrilled to be working with Aliza Shane again, after performing with her in The Imaginary Invalid: By Prescription Only in 2009.

Ryan Bess Winnick (Stacey) is an actress, screenwriter, and Construction Manager (DIY backlash!). She studies at HB Studios with Michael Beckett and Austin Pendleton and is a current member of the HB Ensemble. Her recent projects include “Hipsters,” a web-series in development, and her roles as Grace in the original production of Real Real Real Estate and Bea in The Burstroms, which showcased at The Producer’s Club. Ryan is thrilled to work with 3V on their initial endeavor and looks forward to being cast in future projects.

Laura Hirschberg (Director) is a director/playwright/stage manager based in NYC. She is ecstatic to be a part of 3V’s inaugural reading series and she looks forward to many more collaborations to come! Previous directing credits include Swallow It, Clean, Fire Thief and Azaleas at Looking Glass Theatre, The Strongest at The WorkShop Theater, Hook Ups at the Capital Fringe Festival, and several others.

Josh Mahaffey (Dumont) is originally from Columbus, Ohio where he got his BFA in Acting from Otterbein University (2010). Recent credits include I Hate New Years (Manhattan Rep.), Romantic Fools, The Gayest Christmas Pageant Ever (The Alpha NYC), Our Town (Tongue-in-Cheek) and Layer Cake (Looking Glass Theatre). Josh would like to thank 3V Theatre, all his family and friends, and of course, his lady Megan.

Kea Trevett (Joey) is currently a member of the Apprentice Company at The Barrow Group Acting School, where she will be playing Tricia in Dog Sees God next month.
