The leaves have changed, the air is getting colder and it’s almost that time of year… that’s right, THE HOLIDAYS are just around the corner! From Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, all of the above or none, you aren’t immune to them. Whether you dread this time or revel in it, THE HOLIDAZE are coming!

We’re presenting a night of short plays all about the holidays, from Thanksgiving and Christmas to Valentine’s Day or Arbor Day, any holiday or holiday-adjacent theme is fair game. We’re talking the good, the bad and the drunken messes!

ALIZA SHANE (Director)

AMIE AMIS (Dominique) started as a professional musician in New York City, and after completing the improv program at the Peoples Improv Theater, she rediscovered her love for acting. To keep herself sharp, she is currently studying the Meisner and Chekhov techniques, and the art of being a new mom!

MICHAEL PICHARDO (Luis) is a Lower East Side native. He graduated from Queensborough Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Performing Arts. Regional: The Favor (Chicago Fringe). Off-Broadway: Othello (American Theatre of Actors) and The Last Hour (Royal Family). Other NYC: Punk Grandpa (Frigid New York), The Skin of Our Teeth (Articulate Theatre), Memory Show (Dixon Place), Allie’s Appendix (PCTF/The Paradise Factory), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Original Binding Productions), Sex, Relationships, and Sometimes Love (The Producer’s Club), and Spoon River Anthology (Roy Arias Theater). JORDAN TIERNEY (Lester) has been working in New York as an actor (and as of tonight, a playwright) since he was 17 and the first people he met and worked with are working him tonight for Holidazed & Confused. He would like to give a major thank you to Aliza Shane, Jenn Tufaro and Amanda Thompson for everything they have taught him on how to maneuver as a working actor in New York City and for the opportunity to reunite with them so many years later.

 

PUSSY WILLOW

JENN TUFARO (Playwright) Originally from North Dakota, Jenn has worked as an actor, director, playwright, stage manager, production manager, board op, designer and producer. Whew. Alongside Aliza and Chanda, she is thrilled to provide a creative environment for all artists at 3V. Jenn has written, directed or acted in all of 3V’s staged reading events – Mother May I? (director), Threesomes (playwright), Say Uncle! (playwright, director), Caged (playwright, director), Shocktober (playwright, actor), Soaked (playwright, director, actor) and Great Scott! (director, actor). Jenn is the former Co-Artistic Director / Managing Director of Looking Glass Theatre and the former Managing Director of Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. She’s wife to the amazing Greg and a mommy to her sweet boys Jake (3) and JohnJohn (1).

PËTRA DENISON (Mia) is a graduate of Boston University’s Acting program. New York credits include Antigone/Teiresias/Messenger in Antigone, Tracy in Seascape with Sharks and Dancer, and Ariel in The Tempest. She is very excited to be part of this 3V Theatre event!

LUCY LOCKE (Maggie) is brimming with joy and holiday spirit to be working again with 3V! Recent credits include “The Nightman Cometh” Cabaret at the West End Lounge. MARY REGAN (Marta) has appeared in past staged readings with 3V Theatre and has also appeared in shows around NYC with Looking Glass Theatre, LaMama E.T.C., NY Fringe Festival and Musical Theatre Factory. Additionally, she has also performed improv, sketch comedy, solo shows and storytelling at such venues as UCB Theatre, The PIT, Magnet Theatre and QED.

 

CHRISTMAS EVE EVE

LAURA PITTENGER (Playwright) – Laura’s plays have been seen at GI60/Brooklyn College, FringeNYC, The Playwrights’ Center, The Last Frontier Theatre Conference, The Gallery Players (Brooklyn), KCACTF and Ball State University. Her play The Gospel of Huxley will appear in the upcoming Smith & Kraus Anthology 100 Five-Minute Plays for Study and Performance, while The HVAC Plays (FringeNYC) is available on Indie Theatre Now. MAGGIE DELGADILLO (Director) is a graduate of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities (BA, Theater Arts) and the Circle in the Square Professional Theater Training Program in NYC. While currently working as a video producer, Maggie is pumped to be returning to the world of live theater and is grateful to 3V Theatre for the chance to work with this stellar cast! VICKI OCEGUERA (Grace) is so excited to be a part of another 3V Staged Reading and work with such an amazing company again! SARAH SAWYER (Carly) recently moved to New York after graduating from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England. She does plays. Her most favorite ones were The London Cuckolds (UK), Romeo and Juliet (Phoenix Symphony) and Little Women (Lyric Opera Theatre). She does film too. JOSHUA MICHAEL MAGID (Shaun) is excited to join 3 Voices Theatre’s production of Holidazed and Confused! Josh has spent much of the last two years taking classes at many NYC acting studios, including; The Barrow Group, HB Studio, The Upright Citizen’s Brigade and The Acting Studio. Previous roles include: Sir Frank Finger (It’s Only a Play), Mordcha the Innkeep (Fiddler on the Roof) and Billy (Edward Bond’s Chair). He respects his ancestors’ Christmas traditions the old fashioned way, in the movie theater with Chinese food.

CHANNUKAH OR HANNUKAH: SOLVING THE EPIC FUCKING MYSTERY

LENNY SCHWARTZ (Playwright) is the writer/director of the plays The Social Avenger (Winner Best Book for a comedy or musical 2016 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity), Subject 62 (Winner Best Playwriting 2013 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity), Kung Fu Babies, The Wire Game, and many others. Lenny is also a screenwriter of the films Normal, Accidental Incest, Murder University, and the upcoming films Satan’s Children, Higher Methods, and co-writer of Crusing for a Bruising: The Legend of Dynastud among many others. Upcoming plays include Goodbye and Hurry Back (a bio play about Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall), an untitled spring comedy, and the totally rewritten version of Co-Creator. And he loves you all.

ALICA DAINE (Elizabeth) hails from a small town in Arizona. She is a recent grad of USC’s BFA Acting program, and a very recent addition to the New York theatre scene. She is very excited to be joining 3V Theatre for this fun project! Thanks to everyone at 3V for the warm welcome!
